The Peacock Lounge

We regularly visit the Peacock Lounge in Allestree. The staff are amazing. Monica even knows our regular order and starts preparing it before we reach the counter. It's the best coffee in the area, and blows Costa out of the water!!!

First time here, really enjoyed it, good food and service, nice atmosphere in there as well, will definitely be back. Also, completely random, we wanted some photocopying doing, but the library was shut, so we asked the owner in the Peacock if he knew anywhere locally where we could get this done, he didn't unfortunately, but ten minutes later he came over and told us, if we pop next door to the travel agent they will do it! We popped next door, they did the copying for nothing, brilliant, that's what you call community service, excellent stuff.

What a fabulous little gold mine of a place. Visit most days for a coffee ( if we can get a table) but Saturday nights with entertainment & food Is really good. Well done to everyone involved in the running of this establishment.

Fab cosy place. Love the decoration, staff really friendly and service great. Wheelchair access is good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like tables can book up or fill up fast but it doesnt feel overcrowded. Nice choice of breakfasty items and sandwhiches on the menu

I had my babyshower here today and had the best time! The owners were extremely attentive and met our every request. And as for the food!!!! 10/10. I cannot recommend this place more. Thankyou so much

After a bit of a look around the charity shops, we ended up taking a chance with The Peacock Lounge, after our usual go-to place shut down a while back. Didn't even realise it was there, as we don't tend to go down that part of the shopping centre. But I'm happy we did, because what a place! It has a super cosy feel to it, with a great interior (must be fabulous in the evening!) The staff seemed really pleasant on arrival, and we were able to get a table more or less straight away. They had some good gluten-free options on the menu, and have others too (but understandably, they need prior warning for this.) I decided to have their "Terry's Chocolate Orange" hot chocolate complete with cream, marshmallows and pieces of Terry's which was amazing, especially served in a mason jar (super creamy!) I didn't have any food, but had a slice of their carrot and walnut/pistachio cake and it was divine! Mum had the gluten-free toast with jam and a pot of the white pear and ginger tea, which were given a thumbs up too! Only thing was (and this is in no way a negative) I had to go to the counter to ask about my cake, as it hasn't come to the table with everything else. However, I understand that the place had become quite busy and the staff were trying to sort other orders out too. The gentleman was really good about it, and cut a slice for me there and then. Altogether, it came to a little over £14, which I thought was well worth it. Would love to return again in the future, to try some of the food. Amazing place with a fabulous atmosphere, good food and lovely staff! Definitely a thumbs up for The Peacock Lounge!

I had a lovely lunch with my Gran! It was quite busy when we arrived but staff were accommodating. Food was yummy fair price too.

Lovely place, took my nan, sister and mum for afternoon tea. Great food , lovely choice of sandwiches and cakes on two stands , big teapots of tea and you can have coffee too. I asked for gluten free bread which was no problem at all for them. The homemade scones were a massive hit with us all! I could of just had them , they were so good. Lovely atmosphere and great service, staff very friendly and nothing is to much bother. Worth a visit and good value for money for the afternoon tea.
